from: Hare in the Moon Astrology

Friday March 22 2013 "It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasure.Where you stumble, there lies your treasure." Joseph Campbell. "The Uranian Jolt is about to be delivered-the wires are humming.Today's meeting of Mars and Uranus in fire-starter Aries kicks us on fast forwards towards next Wednesday's Full Moon, the first of the three High Moons. It's a doozy ,crackling through a Cardinal T Square between Moon,Pluto and 4 Aries planets bringing the destabilising events of summer 2010 into the present.Pluto and Uranus are within degrees of their 3rd exact square on May 20.This is wildcat, catch me if you can energy and is going to reveal huge cracks in situations which had gone quiet in the last few months. This will be global and it will be personal ,especially if you have natal planets or angles between 0-10 Aries,8-12 Capricorn and 5-9 Libra.Watch what's happening in EU country Cyprus where the banks are permanently closed and the government is offering mineral rights to Russia in exchange for a bail out!And behind the scenes but not for much longer, South African rand bonds are teetering towards a giant currency crash. We're now in eclipse season and everything counts. With 3 eclipses approaching-April 25,May 10 and May 25 across the Taurus/Scorpio axis, think metaphorical and maybe literal earthquakes as Pluto reaches up from the underworld cracking open the illusion of terra firma. Today, all the crackling out of bounds fire energy is screaming"Me! Me! What about me?!".People will be stoked, edgy and impetuous.See if you can take the extra voltage and channel it into something creative and productive.Your physical body needs grounding to contain the download of transpersonal energy."

Maps - "Conscious Mapping"...

"A map is a composite of places, and like a place, it hides as much as it reveals. It is
also a composite of times, blandly laying out on a single surface the result of billions
of years of activity by nature and humanity."   ~ Lucy R. Lippard

"I do not want to map these sites of confluence without due theoretical consideration.
There are deeply ethical questions about such a venture as this; how for example,
researching and mapping implicates across contexts, real people's lives, instances of
recognition. Mapping is the mechanism par excellence of culture. That is, culture as
repository of human artifice, as the movement towards the colony of itself, and cannot
but map its relationship to space and time. Mapping is a poetic voice in the dark, a
prison-house of knowledge, a disrupting, relentless, civilising process, as well as a
guide to staying alive, of understanding that prison-house. Mapping is therefore
inherently paradoxical, reminding us simultaneously of our fragility and resourcefulness
in the face of life and death. It reveals how space is ordered just as much as it indicates
the manner in which space has been imagined..."

some Paddy's Day thoughts penned by Sorrel ...

Do me a favor today will ye?
Your green tuxedo looks snazzy,
But while you're ironing it,
Getting ready for your Paddy Party,
Perhaps say a prayer
For the country you only notice
Once a year in March.
Before you drink the green beer
Consider the ones who starved
For the sake of freedom.
For each sheep that slipped off a limestone shelf
For the extinct bear & wolves,
And before you toast,
Perhaps tell Shell Oil to fuck off
And leave the green isle alone.
There's a transparent girl
Pissing on the floor
Of a Belfast prison
But someone's cabbage in America is getting cold.

"Reasons to Live #50: Whether you succeed or fail, if it's as someone else, you will still be unfulfilled, you will still be lost. If before taking any action, we asked, 'Will this take me towards myself or further away?' what would change? What would we eat, and wear? Where would we work and who would we marry? You deserve to be happy. The world deserves the real you. Step towards yourself and refuse to step away. That is how you will make this world better and how you will truly come alive."

On the road in Co. Meath, sort of lost somewhere around Kells,
we came upon ancient ruins and this friendly little local
that was taking care of the long grass & thorn.

All we seek, is within. No need to search, to quest, to externalise ... ... Bring it back to you.
The treasure you seek has always been there, right there behind your eyeballs, beating in your chest, stirring in your belly, caught in your throat, all along.... You ARE the door.....

"Blessed Morrigan, whose sacred names are three,

I do not pray for strength, for you show me the strength within me.

I do not pray for courage, for I follow you willingly into battle.

I do not pray for wisdom, for you teach me of the crone within.

I do not pray for blessings, because I live each day in blessed magic, following the ways of the wise.

I do not pray for prosperity, for I live in gratitude of the abundance which flows through my life.

I do not pray for love, for love runs like water to me through my family and friends.

I pray to remember these gifts, for in my despair I can lose my self,

And lose my awareness that I am a daughter of your ways.

I pray to remember that when I look into my image, your face is reflected there,

And I can carry any burden because you live within me. "

The Albion Song ~ by Jennifer Smith

Fading away in the mists of time
The Older Gods did go
And we mere mortals left behind
With Younger Gods to know.
And now they too are fading fast
and we are left alone.
And oh my love I grieve the past
and long to go back home.
And oh my Mother is crying and no one can hear Her
Her children are dying
Oh, can she hear me wailing?
Please come and take me home

How long has it been
Since Fal did scream
For Brian's holy crown,
And cries of Andrasta shook the hill
When Rome took Albion down?
For history lies
And poets dream
And truth is seldom known.
And I am left with aching heart and songs to sing alone.
And oh my Mother is dying and no one can hear Her
Her children are crying
Oh, can She hear me wailing?
I long to go back home.
Please come and take me home.

I dream I stood on Erin's Shore,
The sea before me lay.
And all around the wind did sigh
and mourn the fading day.
And then I saw on that shining sea
A ship as white as bone
And then I knew
In my soul
I was finally going home.

FTW

At home I am queen
Dimensions familiar
Etiquette unnecessary
Conventions mine
The parameters of my psyche
Undefined, my weirdnesses
Necessary for context.

When I go out
I zip my lips,
I wear sunglasses
And a bra and a mask,
And I ignore how being out
Amongst the other two-leggeds
Can be crushing.

But I'm not the only one.

Cricket:

Cricket will attune to new vibrations and will aid in heightening intuition, sensitivity and awareness. Crickets can teach effective communication techniques and subconsciousness communication cues to obtain what is needed or wanted. Crickets are about resurrection and transformation from stages as in the molting process. Is it time to shed old ideas to make way for the new? Expect changes and new developments that will bring growth through reflection and patience as the sensitivity to mental, emotional and physical challenges are coming your way. Are you singing your song to be heard at this time? Is it time to rest in contemplation or jump toward your intended target whether it be at work, in relationships, or personal goal and dream? Cricket will help in finding the right balance of action using intuition and subtle awareness.

The Cricket

Crickets are scavengers and feed on organic and decaying plant material. They live under rocks, logs, in meadows, pastures and along roadsides. Because they are active at night, ancient myth associates the cricket with the lunar energies of intuition and sensitivity. When this medicine is fully developed in man logic is balanced with intuition. If underdeveloped the individual takes everything that happens around them to heart and sets them self up to become a victim of circumstance. Emotional discord follows. If the later is true pull in your energy field and do some form of aerobic exercise. This will help strengthen your emotional core and ground your physical body.

Known as natures musicians, crickets can be heard chirping loudly especially during mating season. Their chirping sounds are made by rubbing together their 2 front wings. Attracting a mate with only a chirp can be tricky especially if the females are far away. The cricket not only joins in unison with other males trying to be as loud as possible, but it is also uses its ingenuity to find a mate.

In Africa the tree cricket uses leaves growing on plants to make a megaphone. The cricket chews a pear shaped hole in the leaf and sticks his head through the hold, the leaf bends around his head in a bowl shape like a speaker baffle. Then the cricket presses his sound making wings against the leaf and chirps. These leaf amplifiers increase their sound by up to 10 decibels.

Not only do crickets teach us how to be resourceful and use our ingenuity to acquire a desired outcome they also serve as a weather barometer. Crickets are cold blooded. As the temperature rises on a summer day their metabolism and behavior speed up. The hotter the temperature gets the faster they chirp. When they stop singing altogether it means a storm is approaching. Those with this totem should heed the crickets warning. Storms are symbolic and can indicate that an emotional, mental or physical challenge is coming your way.

The crickets hind legs are modified for jumping. They leap over difficult situations effortlessly always choosing to land in a more pleasing environment and can teach us how to do the same. A powerful ally that embodies the qualities of faith and trust the cricket serves us well. All we need to do is follow its lead.

Cricket - A symbol of intuition and belief. When a cricket appears in a dream or meditation, it is there to tell you to trust in your intuition, for it is more accurate than you may believe. As a totem or power animal, the cricket is heralding an awakening in your psychic abilities and warns of using them without proper grounding and centering.

Archaeology of Self

Gathering the bones
Is becoming
My profession.

Purposefully
Investigating, instigating,
Integrating.
Older Self whispering patiently,
Watching and waiting,
Knowing
It's all grist, all fodder
All wholesome ingredients
For this recipe,
This rehydration, resurrection.
This project of ages,
Of decades, of days,

Centuries
Of imbricated lifetimes and solid moments..
Bones at the crossroads,
By the highways,  in fields,
Bones on the roadside, under bridges,
On creekbanks, in yards, hidden in wild gardens,
In the gloaming of deep damp forest,

Under hedges, caught up in the Thorn,
Swinging from mind-gibbets,
Tucked into niches in old stone walls,
Dropped heedlessly on the porches of my identities..
In the kitchen, down the back of the couch,
In my pockets... Look!
A knucklebone ... or a piece of my spine?
Which bones are mine?

All the while
Old woman whispers,
Beyond narrative,
More than a metaphor,

.. knowing.

"Home port safe harbour" (or, "My Capricorn Moon")

Riding at anchor more or less placidly
With beloved materia, with candles and pictures,
With gems and bangles and dragons and paintbrushes,
Seashells and little owls all in a row.
Love of books, of photographs,
Of feathers and stone and quartz,
Of things made by little hands long ago.
Past moments arrayed, strung together
On shelves, on walls, between pages,
In boxes, chests, tins, jars,
Holding me steady.
My sentimentality
Chains me.
Worthless odds and ends of immense value,
Irreplaceable,
Strewn so artfully in right relationship;
More thoughtful, more harmonious
Than the originals they echo.
Fraught and loving
My eyes sweep hungrily
Year after year
Comfort and pain and guilt and belonging.
So so familiar.
My reference points,
Our stories,
My museum of identity
Calmly moors my vessel.

"Itchy Feet Restless Heart"

Stretching back 'cross seas and lands, breaching Time's tapestry
Of cycles, of knotworks of knowledges, of lifetimes, speak the
Stories like leaves, like stars ..
Draw it to me, breathe it, the past, the future,
Anseo agus anois, here and now!
Now is real, Now is always when anything ever happens;
Another now and another, just as real..
Caught in the spell, eternal .. sing of the magic, make real the key !
Heart and soul alone can't make the journey
In from the cold, To the warm hearth, to belonging..
Nodes of Fate and Time's lord hold
The frayed ends of my attachments,
My subjectivities, dated and clamouring
At my door of oak.

"I am an estuary into the sea ... I am a wave of the ocean ... I am the sound of the sea ... I am a powerful ox ... I am a hawk on a cliff ... I am a dewdrop in the sun ... I am a plant of beauty ... I am a boar for valour ... I am a salmon in a pool ... I am a lake in a plain ... I am the strength of art" ~ Amhairghin
"There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious"  ~ Jung
